Tired with life quite literally in the fast lane, Logistics Manager for Formula One team McLaren Peter Neal began looking for a move into self-employment that would give him more time to spend with his family - time which his career and its constant globe-trotting excluded.

Franchising appealed as a route into owning a business without necessarily possesing previous experience of the industry. “The fact that with FiltaFry you work on a repeat business basis really appealed to me,” Peter remarks. “Also by using FiltaFry my customers are able to save money, which helps to attract business while the economy is weak.”

When Peter launched his business in August he was the 10th new FiltaFry franchise owner to launch this year. “I had a week’s training at head office and an extra week of field training, where I went out with another franchise owner,” he reveals. “When I launched my franchise a FiltaFry Business Development Manager came to my territory assist and head office has been in regular contact. Furthermore, all admiistration is centralised, which is a big help!"

“When I first started trading I was able to hit the ground running as there were already FiltaFry customers in my territory. From then on I have built up a customer base through recommendations and knocking on doors. My business works on a regular repeat customer basis, which I really enjoy as I am able to build up a good rapport with my clients."

I am currently focused on building a solid business that will provide a good level of income for myself and I’m confident that once it’s established I will be earning the same as in my previous job in Formula One.”
