Before taking on the Cheltenham and Worcester Interlink Express franchise, Toby Lewis was director of a consulting company operating in Texas, USA.
After five years in America, Toby found his calling in running his own business back in his native England.
Following extensive research into franchise opportunities, Toby explains what tipped the balance for him: “I already knew I wanted to take on an established business within the overnight parcel delivery sector as this is one field which will always be in demand.”
“When researching Interlink Express, I was impressed by their reputation, investment in technology and brand name.” He adds: “The professionalism of the original induction and subsequent support was first class. The quality of information and the way the company is managed reflected their standing as part of a bigger organisation.”
Toby comments further on working as part of a franchise network “Our service level is dependent on each depot working together as a team to ensure we maintain the highest levels of service for all our customers".
"Therefore as franchisee and franchisor, we all work together to ensure the long-term success of our business. Procedures are put in place so we provide a consistent service across the network.”
Business is booming, with Toby’s staff making collections and deliveries for 1,500 customers over a wide area including Worcester, Droitwich and Cheltenham. The timed services launched by Interlink Express have provided Toby’s business with yet another step up. He says: “A lot of our customers have taken up the timed by 9.30 and by 12 services, plus the level of International deliveries is growing rapidly. The web based shipping solution ship@ease is another example of using technology to help our customers, usually something like this is only available to large shippers, yet this is provided at no cost, regardless of company size”.
