After gaining invaluable ‘inside knowledge’ as a Business Advisor for MOLLY MAID, Regina MacDonald, was the first Business Advisor to seize the chance to put her knowledge to the test as a new Franchise Owner.
Regina was privileged to witness that as a Franchise Owner you wear several hats from managing sales and marketing campaigns, to staff and ultimately finances. Individuals who succeed, according to MOLLY MAID, are ones who are able to embrace these challenges and utilise the MOLLY MAID trademark and proven business system.
When the opportunity to purchase the Bath Franchise became available, Regina and her husband John decided that this was the ideal opportunity to join forces and combine both their skills. “At the time, our children had flown the nest busy pursuing their own careers and we recognised that we needed a change and to do something for ourselves,” explains Regina.
Regina was more than aware of the potential challenges and hard work involved in taking over an established business and in retaining customer loyalty and staff confidence, but had not reckoned on the recession which impacted only 2 weeks after taking over. However, Regina appreciates the long term benefits of being part of a well known company and recognised that the recession also brought about unexpected business – you just need to think a little creatively about who and how to target potential customers. Since starting the business, Regina firmly believes that a positive attitude combined with a strong work ethic are the key elements to success.
“One of the most enjoyable parts of owning and managing your own Franchise is that you have the freedom to make your own decisions whilst being encouraged by a strong support network” says Regina.
Like so many MOLLY MAID Franchise Owners, Regina has found that while the success of her business is largely dependent on her own efforts, the guidance she receives from MOLLY MAID Support Office is instrumental in the successful operation of her business. Franchise Owners benefit from the experience and support of their Business Advisor, whose sole function is to assist them in the growth and management of their business.
