bfa Welcomes New Vice Chairman

"It is a privilege to have the opportunity to support the current chair and management team during this period of evolution in the BFA and the consequent impact this will have on the franchising industry".

Clive Houlston, Managing Director of national franchise network Mr Electric & Aire Serv, has been appointed as Vice Chairman of the British Franchise Association (bfa) Board of Directors.

The bfa, which accredits and promotes ethics in franchising, operates as a membership organisation to represent those franchise companies in the UK that operate in accordance with stringent best practice criteria.

Clive Houlston, who has already held the post of a director of the bfa Board, said: "It is a privilege to have the opportunity to support the current chair and management team during this period of evolution in the BFA and the consequent impact this will have on the franchising industry".

Mr Houlston's election as Vice Chairman comes at a particularly important time for the bfa, one year into a series of developments, which will see new levels of representation in the industry and new structures of engagement.

With these many ongoing developments Mr Houlston will play a significant role in their guidance and implementation, ensuring that the bfa remains the voice of franchising in the UK and an essential catalyst to further promote best practice and ethics in the industry.

Mr Houlston is accompanied on the Board by 12 other elected members of the Association, the Director General of the bfa and the Board's legal advisor.
