Franchisees and their families travelled far and wide to attend the annual conference as Riverford’s franchise network extends across the whole of England and South Wales.

The annual conference is one of the highlights of Riverford’s franchising calendar and blessed with wonderful weather, this years was no exception.

Each year the format is similar, the day started with an impassioned speech from founder Guy Singh-Watson on what Riverford’s role was on the planet and how we can acheive goals together, he also talked about the recent transition to become an employee owned business and what that means both for staff and franchisees.

A relaxed buffet lunch, catered by Riverford’s on site award-winning restaurant, The Field Kitchen was then served, followed by a number of interactive business workshops and talks all held in Riverford’s newly refurbished and extended offices. This year franchisees voted beforehand on the topics they wanted to discuss during the day, ensuring that all the important subjects were covered.

The evening kicked off with an awards ceremony and a vegetarian pop-up feast style dinner.

Many awards under various categories were given out. The coveted Franchisee of the Year 2018 award went to husband and wife team David and Emma Shulman. David and Emma took on the St Albans franchise in April 2016 and have seen sales grow consistently each year. The award acknowledges the genuine love and passion they have for the business and the great care of which they look after their customers.

The runner up awards went to Ged and Susie Campbell of Southwark and Jo and Phil Limb of North Devon, again both couples showing impressive growth and offering great customer care.
Live music and cocktails, served from a converted ice cream van, saw the party carry on late into the night.

Nigel Loveridge, Riverford’s franchise services manager said:

"Once again this year’s conference was a success. Gathering at Riverford’s original farm in Devon always feels special. It reconnects us all with Riverford’s roots. I think it’s safe to say everybody had a good time."
